Temporal versus Eternal - Choosing Well

Moses choose to leave position and wealth to become an outcast (Heb 11:25-27).
In a world that values the present and generally mocks a "pie in the sky" future,
this seems like a really bad choice. Consider how the legacy of Moses lives on,
and ask if his choice was really poor.

This is Faith: Believing in the Impossible or Improbable

Misplaced faith is a dangerous thing and can lead to pain and oppression or worse. In Hebrews 11,
Noah is said to have trusted GOD - while it is dangerous to put your faith in preachers or other
leaders, the Bible always speaks of those who trust God as good and faithful people. Sometimes
trust or faith has been proven to be a good thing...Noah's trust is an example. Can you think of
a time you've either experienced or observed trust being a good thing? Maybe in a parent or spouse, or even in a teacher or doctor? Before we label all faith as bad - we should consider if it is ever good.

What's at Your Core?

If we probe deeply enough, each of us will find the core beliefs that drive our behaviors. Proverbs 23:7 gives insight into how to know who we are. Simply, what you believe, drives what you do. How do your REAL beliefs show up in what you do?

Is Fear Making You Mad?

Much of the anger we see displayed in our social and mainstream
media seems to be rooted in fear. 1 John 4 shows us a better way. We
can put away mistrust and fear by believing that God who created us
is still in control of every situation.

Looking for Hope? Try Faith

Heb 11 describes faith as a way to make the intangible things of God
accessible to us. While misplaced faith is a dangerous thing
that can be used to manipulate us, we should consider the strength
of character we can access through a true faith in good things of God.

What are your nettles?

Our sins often make it hard for us to see the good
things God has provided for us. Hebrews 11:1
gives us a way to see past our sin and into the
provisions God has for us.

Maybe it's time to try something different?

We often seek meaning or purpose to life by
owning things, or by being popular. Psalm 73 gives
us an alternative view to finding meaning in life. If
you find that your life is not fulfilling, maybe
you should try looking elsewhere for meaning.

Welcome

Each of the cartoons on this site is an expression of a sermon I heard in church. As a cartoonist, my method of understanding complex theological topics is to boil them down to simple images.

These images will never do justice to the sermons from which they are derived, but hopefully, they convey at least one aspect of those sermons to you, the reader.

I hope that you gain some benefit from the cartoons and will reuse them in ways that honor Christ.
