Churchtoons, cartoons from Church

The Gospel

The way to God and His paradise, has been provided through the death of Christ.

The above cartoon conceptualizes the way to God - based on Romans 3.

The heart of the gospel (or good news) is simply that we all do things that violate our own moral codes (or conscience Romans 2:15) and that we need someone greater than ourselves to to fix it (Romans 10:13).

While we could argue the finer points of the gospel, like 'what things are really sin?' or 'Did you pray a specific prayer?' this would only detract from the real message...

We all know that we do things that make us feel ashamed and we live with the guilt of it (Romans 3:10). By declaring our sins (or the things we are ashamed of) 'paid for' by Christ (1 John 1:1), we are freed from the ongoing guilt and we gain the courage to seek reconciliation and begin to enact real change by seeking God's direction through His Holy Spirit (John 14:6).

My hope for every Churchtoons reader, is that you will find freedom by calling to God for the forgiveness He offers through His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, and that you will then be comforted by God's Holy Spirit and begin a personal journey of faith.

If you are not sure what any of this means, just call to God as best you can, admit you need help, and ask for His forgiveness based the sacrifice Christ made for you.

Welcome

Each of the cartoons on this site is an expression of a sermon I heard in church. As a cartoonist, my method of understanding complex theological topics is to boil them down to simple images.

These images will never do justice to the sermons from which they are derived, but hopefully, they convey at least one aspect of those sermons to you, the reader.

I hope that you gain some benefit from the cartoons and will reuse them in ways that honor Christ.
