Where is your focus?

Pain demands our attention and makes it difficult to think of anything else.
We can't help but be drawn away by our pain, but long-term, do we
concentrate on the pain or the one who can relieve it? Heb 1:1-3

Heb 12 Running the Christian race is easier, when...

Hebrews 12:1-3 compares the Christian life to a race. We are encouraged by those who have gone
before us and by those who run with us now. Christ has shown the way, but still runs with us
to encourage us on our way.

Where is your zeal? Jn 2:16-18

Christ demonstrates great "zeal" in protecting the purity of worship in the Temple. His actions
reinforced the concept that worship is for everyone, and it is not a way to make money. Do
you have a zeal to see others be enabled to worship?

Jesus Sets His Face Toward Jerusalem

Lk 9:11 Jesus determines to go to Jerusalem, where he knows he will be executed in a painful manner. In this act, Jesus demonstrates he is greater than fear, even the fear brought on by the words of those who follow him. Is Jesus greater than YOUR fear?

Mocked by your loved ones?

In John 7 we are given a scene with Jesus and his brothers. They urge
him to reveal his identity as the messiah, but the urging seems more
like mocking than a sincere commendation. Jesus demonstrates patience
with their comments, by not revealing his identity prematurely or by
being overly harsh in his response.

Welcome

Each of the cartoons on this site is an expression of a sermon I heard in church. As a cartoonist, my method of understanding complex theological topics is to boil them down to simple images.

These images will never do justice to the sermons from which they are derived, but hopefully, they convey at least one aspect of those sermons to you, the reader.

I hope that you gain some benefit from the cartoons and will reuse them in ways that honor Christ.
