Everyone Can Help - Nehemiah 3

In Nehemiah 3, we read of a list of people working to rebuild the security wall around their city. The beauty of this passage is that there was work for every hand. As Christians we can take comfort in the fact that there is work for us and all of us our important to the work (1 Co 12:12).

Let's Be Friends!

Many Christians have big hearts and want to demonstrate love and acceptance with those around them - especially those who may be different in some way. However, in our zeal to locate and love those who are different from us, we may overlook just how similar these people really are to us.
Let us love in a way the demonstrates respect, and sees the hand of God in those we meet. Gal 5:14

The gospel can help you face your truth

One of our greatest fears is to face the truth about ourselves. Even the apostle Paul, seems unable to embrace his own goodness. The grace of God can comfort us even as we face our the hard truths about ourselves. Knowing the truth of the gospel, that God loves and accepts you already - can give us the strength we need to face ourselves and be better.

Nehemiah seeks safety for his people

Nehemiah is devastated by the news that God's people are living in an unsafe place (Neh 1). The stories of persecution and lack of safety for his people, moved Nehemiah to give up his place in the king's court and travel to a place of danger, in order to help his people. What kind of move are we willing to make to ensure the safety of those around us?

What ignites Your Passion?

While there are many things that could and maybe should excite us, there is really only
one passion that truly deserves our full attention. David expresses his great passion for
knowing God in Psalms 63 - How does our passion for God compare?

Are My Rights Blocking the Gospel?

The Apostle Paul willingly suspended his rights ( Rom 14) when they were preventing others
from receiving the gospel. What rights are we willing to suspend to promote the gospel?

David waits on God

When David finds Saul in a compromising position, he could use the opportunity to kill Saul
and become the new king. David refuses to harm Saul, trusting God to deliver the kingdom
in God's own time. David's patience and mercy reflect God's nature.
Do we trust Godenough to be patient with His timing?

Welcome

Each of the cartoons on this site is an expression of a sermon I heard in church. As a cartoonist, my method of understanding complex theological topics is to boil them down to simple images.

These images will never do justice to the sermons from which they are derived, but hopefully, they convey at least one aspect of those sermons to you, the reader.

I hope that you gain some benefit from the cartoons and will reuse them in ways that honor Christ.
