It's not a competition?

Psalm 73 describes a personal crisis of faith. The writer feels helpless against those who would take advantage of the weak. Instead of giving up, the writer units with other believers in the sanctuary of God v17. Maybe you can find the same strength the psalmist found by seeking others who share your beliefs.

Is God conspiring for you?

Sometimes it feels like there's a cosmic conspiracy to cause our failures. But in truth, God is conspiring to bring us good. Psalm 136 tells us God is good and demonstrates some of the ways we see God's goodness. Christians are asked to have faith in God's goodness, even when God doesn't seem to be giving us good things. How is God being good to you?

Who are you - Really?

We often define ourselves by our attributes. We say things like I'm a mom, or a businessman or even "big guy." When those attributes are threatened or removed, and we might feel lost and unsettled. Being a Christian means that our sense of self is stable and based on the perfect promises of God. Col 3:3-4

Goodbye is temporary

Although we mourn the loss of our loved ones, Christians believe that the grieving is temporary. We are comforted by believing that one day we will be reunited with our loved ones when we are gathered together to be with Christ. (John 14:1-4)

Why love?

Why are Christians called to show love? John 17:26 describes Jesus Christ's desire that his followers should share the same kind of love that God the Father had for Christ. In showing selfless love, we get a small glimpse of the love that God has for His Son, and we get to be a little bit like God himself.

The follower sent home

While on earth, Jesus didn't ask everyone to follow him as a disciple. When Jesus healed a man of demonic affliction, the man begged to follow Jesus.  Jesus had a better plan, and sent the man back to his home to testify of all that he had experienced. Sometimes the best way to follow Christ, is to simply tell your story.

How can I understand the Bible?

Those who find the Bible vague or meaningless seem to miss the point of the Bible. When we read the Bible looking for Jesus, or identifying how each passage relates to him, we begin to understand it's messages, John 5:39, 40. Have you ever asked "How does this scripture point to Jesus?"

Welcome

Each of the cartoons on this site is an expression of a sermon I heard in church. As a cartoonist, my method of understanding complex theological topics is to boil them down to simple images.

These images will never do justice to the sermons from which they are derived, but hopefully, they convey at least one aspect of those sermons to you, the reader.

I hope that you gain some benefit from the cartoons and will reuse them in ways that honor Christ.
